Foodbank Volunteer Manager

St Marks, Battersea Rise | South West London

Description of Job

As Foodbank Manager I am excited to advertise a new full time role to work with Wandsworth Foodbank. We are looking for an experienced and engaging full-time Volunteer Manager to support and develop our amazing team of volunteers across the Borough.

In normal times the Foodbank provides emergency food and support to local people who visit our five church-based food bank centres, but lockdown has seen an increase in need and we are now delivering food to people’s homes.

Across the centres, we have more than 200 regular volunteers who the Volunteer Manager will support and encourage in partnership with our centre leaders. The Volunteer Manager will also be responsible for training volunteers so they’re equipped and inspired to provide the best possible support to local people who’ve been pulled into poverty and hardship.

As our busiest foodbank centre and office are at St Mark’s Battersea Rise, we’d love to receive applications from someone who would like to join our church. If you’d like to find out more about the role, please see the job description. You can also contact if you have any questions or would like to have a conversation about this exciting opportunity.

Applications close 23 August 2020 and interviews will take place sometime w/c 24 August.

St Marks, Battersea Rise

St Mark’s is a lively, charismatic evangelical Anglican church seeking to advance God’s kingdom through a Christ-centred, Bible-based, Spirit-empowered ministry. One of the first church plants from Holy Trinity Brompton back in 1987, our three Sunday congregations now attract over 400 adults, 100 children and 40 youth each week. These services are complemented by a great variety of midweek community ministries, courses, cell groups, training and events.
