Priest-in-charge: benefice of Newnham, Blakeney and Awre, West Gloucestershire

Diocese of Gloucester | Newnham, Blakeney and Awre, West Gloucestershire: the modern vicarage is in Newnham.

Description of Job

The church plays a significant role in each of our three villages on the North bank the River Severn. The position of priest-in-charge offers tremendous opportunities to continue to grow the church, building on our successful outreach to children and families, our creative approaches to doing church inside and outside the church building, and the wide experiences of some members of the worshipping community, not least with New Wine and 24-7 prayer. We are less good at making disciples rather than just contacts and have limited success with young people, our prayer and study groups attract only small numbers, and we have no worship band. The benefice is beginning to work together but we need to secure our common vision. While most members of the worshipping comments are elderly: some would welcome radical change. So we are looking for a new leader with clear vision, energy and drive to enable us to move forward.
