-Are you a pioneering church planter?
- Do you have a heart for young people aged 7-18?
- Do you want to play your part in an Acts 2 church, planting and growing micro churches (which we call ‘Collectives’) who ‘worship creatively, love generously and serve locally’?
- This role could be for you.
KEY ROLES:
- To pioneer and lead ‘Youth Collective’ (open to young people aged 11-18) in the town centre of Warrington every Monday night, in Warrington Youth Zone. (Youth Collective was planted in February 2023 and is still in
the organic stages of growth and development with an average attendance of 10 young people each Monday).
-To pioneer, plant and lead a ‘Kids Collective’, a micro church that will engage junior school aged children. This could be planted around a junior choir collaborating with Chip Kendal, or another Holy Spirit inspired idea.
- Plan and lead the 7-12s programme during our (currently) once monthly gatherings on a Sunday afternoon.
OTHER ROLES DEPENDING ON HOURS WORKED:
- Schools work:
• Both primary and secondary, engaging with the rising generation through assemblies, lunch time clubs, after school clubs and other opportunities that might arise.
• To work in partnership with Warrington Youth for Christ through their mission weeks and schools work.
- Discipleship:
• Pioneer discipleship groups for young people to engage with God through prayer, worship and the Bible.
- Church wide:
• To resource other Collectives with ideas of how to engage and pastor 7-18 year olds in their local contexts.
- Social Media:
• Working with the Resource and Creative Director, create age relevant content for Tik Tok and ‘Yoof’, a Warrington Youth Zone led video platform (like YouTube).
Additionally, there may be other responsibilities and tasks not mentioned here which the Lead Pastor will require of the Rising Generations Pastor.
VISION AND VALUES CHURCH COLLECTIVE:
Church Collective is a network of Micro churches (which we call ''Collectives"). At Church Collective, ‘We invite everyone to play their part as we worship creatively, love generously and serve locally’. The values we inhabit are grounded upon three fundamental aspects to our apprenticeship to Jesus; 'Up' ,'In' and 'Out'.
When we worship creatively (Up) we are worshiping God in creative ways, praying to Him, studying His word, introducing people to God and inviting people to come into a relationship with Jesus. Collectives are small communities of people (up to around 40 people) who generously love each other (In) like we see in Acts 2: 42-47. That love of God and one another spills out into a desire to serve the local community (Out) with missional initiatives and social action. Part of the mission of each Collective is to go to where people are, not expecting people to !come to us". Hence, Collectives meet in different neighbourhoods, engaging with different networks of people in schools, the University, coffee shops, church buildings, and in other appropriate spaces relevant to that specific community. Collectives are always looking to plant new groups of Jesus-centred, disciple making, Spirit-led communities.
Whilst being a network of small organic communities, Church Collective is one church, periodically gathering together in a central base to worship, be encouraged and equipped, and to receive the sacraments together.
Church Collective sits within the legal responsibility and governance of Christ Church Padgate's PCC, and under their relevant officers and policies. Christ Church Padgate (CCP) is ‘hosting’ the mission and ministry of Church Collective, a ‘Strategic Development Funded’ Church of England church plant. The post will be fully underpinned by CCP employers’ policies, staff handbook & T&C’s.
EXPECTATIONS:
- This role is a forward facing, pioneering role to engage with 7-18 year olds. This can only happen by being where people are and interacting with them. Hence a significant proportion of the working week will be face to face with people in a variety of capacities the Rising Generations Pastor creates.
- Be an active member of Church Collective, by committing to a Collective, attending weekly prayer meetings and help facilitate our gathered times of equipping and celebration together.
- Work alongside the safeguarding lead at Church Collective and safeguarding officer at CCP to ensure outstanding safeguarding practices across the role.
- Be trained in, and outwork outstanding safeguarding, data protection and health & safety practices.
- Play an active role in the leadership of Church Collective through staff meetings, training, strategy and ministry conversations.
