ABOUT KXC

King’s Cross Church (KXC) is an Anglican church led by Pete and Bee Hughes that was launched in 2010 to engage with the missional opportunities created by the King’s Cross redevelopment. The vision is to ‘serve God’s purposes to make all things new’ through bringing the good news of the gospel to all those who live, work and pass through King’s Cross.

Over the past 14 years, KXC has grown to become a church of around 1,000 people and hosts 4 services each week at 9.30am, 11.30am, 3pm, and 5pm. Most of the congregation are in their 20’s and 30’s, though this is growing in diversity. The congregation includes around 100 children and youth.

We were designated as a Resource Church in the Diocese of London in 2019 with a vision to plant churches, raise up leaders and serve the wider church with resources in the area of worship, discipleship and mission. As a church we are also committed to church planting and over the past few years have planted 5 churches, and founded the TABLE family of churches which is already growing through further plants. You can read more information about the church at: kxc.org.uk.

At KXC we love welcoming families and kids of all ages. Our hope is to build a community that supports parents and carers, as well as to create an environment of huge fun where children can make friends, flourish in their relationship with Jesus, and learn to share His love with their friends and communities.

Our growing kids’ ministry now runs at both the 9:30 and 11:30 services. We have 4 different age kids’ groups (0-2, 3-5, 6-7 and 8-11), and the work is supported by an amazing team of volunteers who are committed to seeing kids grow in their spiritual lives. We also host regular social events, such as the annual Light Party, that welcome families from the community, as well as help kids introduce their friends to their church family. We currently have two midweek groups. Little Haven is our baby and toddler group that meets on a Wednesday morning in King’s House, and we have a Bible study for 8-11s after school on a Tuesday. Our hope is to build a community that supports parents and carers, as well as to create an environment of huge fun where children and young people can make friends, flourish in their relationship with Jesus, and learn to share His love with those around them

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are recruiting for a visionary, pioneering Children and Families Pastor who has a vision for engaging families from the local area, as well as discipling those within the congregation. This person will also lead our Families Stream at KXC, which includes line managing our Kids Pastor and Youth Pastor, providing an overarching vision for how kids, young people and families encounter Jesus, are formed into his likeness and share the love of God to those in the wider community. We’re looking for someone who is passionate in cultivating a culture of evangelism amongst kids and families, pioneering new projects, and strengthening existing ones, to engage with parents, families and children in the local community, reaching them with the good news of Jesus.

  • Line managing and developing pastors and team members within the Families Ministry Stream, working with them in collaboration to best serve the kids, youth, parents, families and students at KXC.
  • Working alongside the Safeguarding Officer to ensure that the Diocese of London and KXC’s safeguarding policies and procedures are being correctly implemented. Raising any safeguarding concerns as soon as they arise.
