ASSOCIATE PASTOR
We are looking to recruit a suitably gifted person to join the Leadership and Staff Team as Associate Pastor (Full-time) to help enable the church to fulfil its vision, with this role being particularly focused on the areas of discipleship and pastoral care.
They will be someone who loves Jesus, is hungry for more of Him, is servant hearted and able to join in leading others. They will be authentic and rooted the way of Jesus, enabling them to lead by teaching, inspiration, and example.
Working with the existing Leadership Team and staff, they will further the growing life of the church and local community. Our vision is to reach our community with the love of God because all people matter to Him. Therefore, they will be passionate to communicate the love of God and good news of Jesus to everyone.
We have a congregation of around 200-220 including children and young people. We have a wide range of weekly activities to meet the varying needs of the church and local community; young, old and everyone in-between.
Ideally the person we appoint will live in the heart of our local community which has a mixed demographic having many families, couples, young professionals, and older folks whom we seek to reach.
We are based in our brand-new church and community centre about a mile outside the large historic market town of Northampton.
Due to the nature of the role, there is an occupational requirement for the post holder to be an evangelical Christian in agreement with the Baptist Union Declaration of Principles and EA Basis of Faith, applicants must also be legally entitled to work in the UK.
If you sense God may be calling you to join us as our Full-time Associate Pastor, please look at our Church and Ministry profile and how to arrange an informal conversation as well as the application process.

Broadmead Community Church
Broadmead Community Church, located in Northampton, has a rich history dating back to the1930s. Originally established to create a Christian presence in the local area, the church’s vision remains focused on reaching out to the local community with the message and love of Christ.
The church is made up of people from a variety of backgrounds, with some or no
previous church experience; we at heart are evangelicals. We would describe ourselves as
Bible-based and Spirit-led. Our Sunday Gatherings and other occasions have a contemporary feel, with many different people leading worship, hosting and speaking.
We recently went through the process of knocking down our 1930s’ Baptist Chapel to build a Church and Community Centre more fit for purpose and vision.
This has enhanced our focus: we are now very much at the heart of our community with the
activities, groups and projects all aimed at enabling more people of faith or no faith to feel part of the life of the church community.
We are keen to continue to develop this focus, making our faith and church more relevant to those we seek to reach with the love of Jesus.
Children and Youth play an important part in the life of the church and many of the groups and activities are for the under 18s.
Our values are captured in our Three Whys –
the key ingredients of our life together:
- Everyone welcome
- Encountering Jesus
- Embracing Adventure.
In a nutshell, they are our ‘why’- why we do all that we do.
