We are delighted to advertise the role of Kids, Families and Community Lead at The Parish of Totton and Calmore, Southampton. This is a full time role with a salary of £26,000 - £28,000 based on experience. The working days are Monday to Thursday, half day on Friday and half day on Sunday morning.
The role of the Kids and Family Community Lead is to oversee the vision for our Kids and Families ministry: To engage with families in the community in proactive, missional ways and to create a place of ‘home’ for children aged 0-11 where they are secure, heard, comfortable to invite friends, and find out more about Jesus.
This includes our Sunday Morning Kids programme at St Wins for our two age groups, Mini Adventurers for 0 -4s and Odyssey Kids for 4-11. This includes planning and developing the curriculum and related activities.
The role will focus on building and strengthening key connections with families in the community. Planned activities include leading a volunteer team to run a lunchtime café immediately following Bubbles, our Wednesday morning group for babies and preschool children. This new ministry seeks to foster an invitational and missional culture, sharing the love of Jesus in practical ways through a simple, free lunch while also pointing attendees toward resources like daytime Alpha courses, parenting workshops, and more. Additionally, the individual in this role will work closely with our clergy team to explore and pioneer innovative approaches to connecting with families in Calmore.
A team player, they will ideally have experience in working with children and families within a church setting and enjoy working with a fast paced and dynamic team. They will demonstrate a strong understanding of safeguarding policy, practice and will be confident in overseeing and nourishing volunteer teams. They will have a passion for connecting with the community in creative and invitational ways.
