Purpose
St John the Baptist is a vibrant welcoming Church that is looking to extend its work with children. In 2022 a children’s worker was appointed to build and grow relationships with the Local CE school.
We now seek to invest in the development of this ministry so that all generations (children and their families, older people living in care homes) have more opportunities to grow in depth of Christian faith and experience of God, grow together as a household of faith and growing community in the wider community.
We seek to employ a Children’s and Families Minister, for an initial 3 year term. The role will take a strong lead in helping us develop ministry across the generations.
The main aims are to:
Further develop the existing partnership with the local CE school (OFSTED graded Good and SIAMS – Good) to build the Christian distinctiveness through collective worship and a weekly Christian club.
Partnering with parents and carers to develop children in their faith
Work alongside local Care Home to develop the intergenerational community of young families (Children under 1 year old) and older people living in a care home setting.
Establishing disciples whose vigour and openness to God speaks to the whole church and community
