Board Member
Fusion are looking to strengthen and expand our Board of Trustees. If you are passionate about the church and student evangelism this role could be for you. The Fusion board is where business sharpness collides with Spirit wildness as we hold in tension a faith-filled pursuit of all that God has for the Fusion Movement while doing so with professionalism and excellence.
This is an unpaid voluntary position. Reasonable expenses are paid.
Board members are expected to attend four board meetings per year, but also to participate in the life of the movement between board meetings. Meetings are held mid-week (three in-person and one online).
Fusion Movement
Fusion was established in 1998 as God was moving in his church and stirring various pioneers about student mission. In the nineties, there had been an enormous increase in student numbers and a missional response was required. Since then we have connected over 30,000 students to local churches, preparing them for university and worked with those churches to share the gospel with students. There are now 2,500 churches connected to Fusion.
The purpose of Fusion is to give every student an opportunity to find hope in Jesus and home in the local church. We equip churches with tools and confidence to love, welcome and disciple students.
The role involves:
● Attending four meeting days a year
● Supporting the Chair, Fusion Team, and other trustees
● Preparing well for meetings, contributing agenda items and challenging constructively
● Taking responsibility for and understanding good governance
● Involvement in strategic planning for Fusion Movement
● Influencing policy (HR, Risk Management)
● Helping Fusion to grow and scale
● Praying for the Fusion Movement
We would like candidates to have board-level experience, ideally at a charity or company of a similar or larger size to Fusion.
Applications welcome or contact luke.smith@fusionmovement.org for more information.
Deadline 2nd March 2025
Fusion
Fusion are committed to championing a worldwide movement of student mission. We believe in the power and potency of students as a force for revival and transformation in the world and recognise that university is a key formational, decision-making time for them. We are convinced that it is the local church who are best placed to nurture, disciple and support students into mission across campuses, cities and beyond. Fusion, therefore, seeks to equip students for a life of mission and discipleship by guiding them into local churches that are trained and resourced to effectively care for and release students into the calling God has placed on their lives.
