St Francis Church, Strood is entering an exciting new season of mission and growth, and we are seeking to appoint a Missional Leader – Youth and Young Adults to help shape the next chapter of our life together.

Following a period of church revitalisation, this role will build on strong foundations in schools, youth work, and young adult ministry, with a particular focus on discipleship, leadership development, and community engagement.

About the Role

This is a pioneering role at the heart of our missional vision, working with:

• Local schools – supporting RE, assemblies, and after-school clubs

• Youth ministry – leading weekly SFS Youth and developing discipleship pathways

• Young adults – growing The Sanctuary into a sustainable worshipping community

• Community initiatives – including oversight of a boxing-based outreach programme

You will be part of a collaborative staff and leadership team, supported by the Diocese of Rochester, and encouraged to innovate, listen, and respond to the needs of young people in Strood.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a committed Christian with a heart for young people

• Has experience in youth and/or young adult ministry

• Is relational, creative, and able to work collaboratively

• Is passionate about discipleship, mission, and leadership development

• Is flexible and willing to work evenings and weekends

• Full-time role (37.5 hours per week)

• Salary: £32,000–£35,000 per annum, dependent on experience

Safeguarding

St Francis Church and the Diocese of Rochester are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. The successful applicant will be required to undertake enhanced DBS clearance and safeguarding training.
