Description of Job

Due to the retirement of our current teacher, we have a part time vacancy (0.6, Mon-Weds) for a music teacher and collective worship lead from September 2026.

John Keble Church of England School is a two-form entry, happy, vibrant learning community in North West London with good transport links. In June 2023, Ofsted judged the school to be good in every area, with music highlighted as a strength. In July 2023, our Church of England inspection (SIAMs) judged us to be excellent in every area, including collective worship.

For us as a school team, we believe it is vital that our children are offered as many experiences as possible. This ensures they are inspired, engaged, and able to discover their individual talents and strengths, enabling them to flourish academically, socially, and spiritually. Specialist music lessons, high quality sung worship and our school choir are a key part of this provision.

Teaching across the whole school, from Nursery to Year 6, the successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and inspirational practitioner with strong classroom management skills, excellent subject knowledge, and a clear commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for our pupils.

Working closely with senior leaders and the wider school community, the successful candidate will take a leading role in planning, delivering and developing whole-school sung collective worship that is in line with the school’s Christian vision and Church of England ethos. They will help ensure that worship is meaningful, reflective, and central to the life of the school, supporting the spiritual development of pupils and adults.

They will also be a dedicated team member, able to embrace challenge, whilst inspiring and motivating others.

As a school, we work restoratively, placing emphasis on forming sound and positive relationships built on mutual trust. Our expectations are consistently high; not just of ourselves as educators but also of the children and families who make our community.
