Role: 18 - 25s Worker
Responsible to: Associate Leader
Salary: £24,500–£29,500 (pro-rata)
Term: 12 months fixed term (possibility of extension)
Hours: 30 hours per week (0.8 FTE / 4 days), including Sundays and two evenings per week
Start Date: 1 June 2026
This is an extraordinary moment to work with 18–25-year-olds. Young adults are seeking Jesus with a fresh intensity—arriving at Alpha courses on their own, opening the Bible unprompted, and responding to God in profound ways. We seem to be at the start of a spiritual awakening, with campuses and cities alive with curiosity, passion, and a hunger for God, creating a unique opportunity to disciple and equip a generation eager to follow Him.
We are looking for a relational, organised and outward looking leader to engage and welcome students and young adults, fostering a community of radical Jesus followers where making new disciples is central. You will lead the 18–25s team, developing and managing volunteers to establish and strengthen the ministry, nurture communities of belonging and discipleship, participate in outreach across the city, offer pastoral care, and build networks with churches and organisations locally and nationally.
The successful candidate will bring pastoral sensitivity, spiritual maturity, and a consistent devotional life, with their relationship with Jesus underpinning all they do. You will also demonstrate strong administrative and operational skills, build collaborative relationships across the church and wider community, contribute to programme planning and midweek activities, and make New Community your home church, gathering weekly to worship and invest in the life of the congregation.
The offer of this position will be subject to references and an Enhanced DBS check.
