Worship Pastor
St Paul’s Carlton | Nottingham
We are seeking a passionate and visionary Worship Pastor to lead us into a new season of life and growth. This is a key leadership role, shaping the worshipping heart of our church and helping to create spaces where people encounter God deeply and authentically.
You will oversee and develop worship across Carlton and Colwick, with a primary focus on strengthening contemporary worship at St Paul’s Carlton as a core base. Alongside leading Sundays, you will invest in building teams, nurturing creativity, and raising the next generation of worship leaders. We are excited about extending worship beyond church walls into schools, youth settings, and other community contexts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop vibrant, contemporary Spirit-filled Sunday worship and midweek worship gatherings
- Build, train, and pastor a committed worship team (including establishing regular full-band worship)
- Shape a strong culture of encounter, creativity, and congregational participation
- Encourage and develop songwriting rooted in the life of our church and community
- Identify, mentor, and release emerging worship leaders
- Partner with our Youth and Kids Pastor to develop worship in schools and other ministry settings
- Help train young musicians and invest in future leaders
Key Requirements
- Experience as a Worship Leader or Worship Pastor
- Strong musical proficiency in at least one instrument
- Basic production knowledge (or willingness to grow)
- Ability to lead worship in a variety of settings
- Passion for local church worship and writing songs for the congregation
- A heart to lead people into the presence of God
Desirable: Broader creative gifts (art, spoken word, multimedia), media experience, and piano/keyboard proficiency.
