Church Planting

New Wine's role in Church Planting - Vision and Strategy

New Wine is committed to church planting and multiplication in every area of ministry, and we believe that every church in every context has a part to play in church planting and every church can be part of multiplication. New Wine has a strategy and vision to support churches across the country, regardless of their size, in planting and multiplication in whatever way works in their context.

Church Planting and New Wine so far

Throughout its history, New Wine has supported churches and individuals to explore church planting.  Through the Stones and Ripples course, we have trained 6 cohorts of church planters (which involved working with more than 50 churches) and a significant number of these have gone on to plant a new expression of churchWe celebrate what has gone on so far, but we would love to and feel called to do more to support our local churches in planting.

What is the vision for church planting going forwards?

Church Planting has become a narrative that echoes around the churches in every denomination and at New Wine, we want to do all we can to help equip every church to navigate their place in this ministry.  We believe that we as a family of churches and a network of leaders, we are uniquely placed to reach our nation for Jesus.  Over the course of the year, we connect with about 1,300 churches and we believe that New Wine is represented in every denomination, every county and in every context across the country.

Which Churches can plant?

We believe that every church can be involved in church planting, but the context and size will have a huge influence of what support and resources that church will need.  To support this, we have developed three streams for planting:

This is for larger churches who have planted once or more already or are designated as C of E Resource Churches.

This is for any church from any context who aspire to plant (medium to large churches, rural churches, house churches, new plants, missional communities, rural market town churches, urban priority churches, Eden Projects).

This is for any small church or individual who have an opportunity and aspirations to plant. This will most likely be connected to a church or denomination but could just be a single individual who has seen an opportunity.
