New Wine statement on safeguarding listening exercises
At New Wine, safeguarding is a responsibility we take extremely seriously. We are committed to creating environments where people are safe, listened to, and treated with dignity and respect.
We have seen recent coverage regarding the launch of a listening exercise connected to St Andrew’s, Chorleywood. We want to say clearly that we welcome approaches that prioritise listening well, taking concerns seriously, and creating safe opportunities for people to share their experiences.
We recognise that for many, coming forward takes courage. Being heard and responded to appropriately is a vital part of good safeguarding practice, and we support processes that seek to centre those who have been hurt.
At New Wine, we want to reiterate our commitment to safeguarding and invite anyone with safeguarding concerns, experiences, or information in relation to New Wine they wish to share to come forward and contact us. All contact will be handled sensitively and in line with our safeguarding policies and statutory responsibilities.
You can contact our safeguarding team confidentially at: safeguarding@new-wine.org or via our website:
We remain committed to continually strengthening our safeguarding culture, practice, and accountability, and to working with others across the church to ensure safer environments for all.
