Welcome to the New Wine Discipleship Year, Birmingham.
We’re excited by the launch of the NWDY Birmingham hub, here at St John’s Harborne and invite you to be part of something special.
St John’s (SJH) is a vibrant, multi-generational church a few miles south of the city centre, close to the University of Birmingham and QE hospital. We have a heart for people to experience the transformative nature of Jesus through encounter, leading to mission and we think that the Discipleship Year helps equip young people to help the kingdom grow here in Birmingham and beyond.
Teaching (1 day/week)
Normally on a Thursday.
Placement (between 15-30hours)
Placements are available at SJH and other New Wine churches in the region. Areas of involvement include children’s, toddlers, youth and older people ministries, bridge building (outreach) ministries, worship and production, comms and creative media and operations. At SJH there may be an opportunity to be involved in several ministries for a breadth of experience.
Accommodation
Students can arrange their own accommodation, or accommodation can be offered with a church family from your placement church.
Cost
The course fee is £1575 (26/27), payable at the beginning of the year. Placements will give time for students to work when necessary.
We are committed to making the Discipleship Year accessible to those who are called to it. Full and partial bursaries may be offered through placement churches to help support students with course fees, depending on individual circumstances and available funding.
