All Souls welcomes over 1,500 people to its morning and evening services each Sunday, with a core membership of around 1,200, representing about 60 nationalities. The age distribution is fairly even: 28% are 18-29, 27% are 30-44, 30% are 45-64, and 16% are over 65. About 250 children and youth participate in our programmes. The adult age profile tends to be slightly older at morning services and younger at evening services. Approximately 700 volunteers serve in various roles. We have around 60 Fellowship Groups led by 135 leaders.

As a large church, we offer a wide range of ministry activities, each led by a dedicated member of the ministry team and supported well by the church family. Our ministry falls into six core areas: services, evangelism, discipleship (adults and 0-18s), world mission, music, and serving the city. All of these aim to motivate and equip church members to recognise and exercise their personal ministries as they serve God through the callings of whole-life discipleship in everyday life.

All of our ministry activity is grounded in prayer, with a monthly prayer gathering serving as the foundation of our corporate prayer as a church, supported by online weekday 8 am prayer meetings. Over the past 18 months, this has been supplemented by other regular days of prayer and fasting. It has been truly encouraging to witness the church family respond so positively to these initiatives.

The Role

You will be prepared for a lifetime of ministry in children’s, youth, and family work. This is for you who have chosen youth and children's work as your vocation and calling. This role is not an apprenticeship but intended to provide a substantial experience in children’s or youth work within a church. You will build on that experience and develop it towards a lifelong career in paid Christian ministry.

The role will focus on the kind of character and qualities needed to lead a 0-18 ministry and will involve learning:

  • How to best support families to disciple their children
  • How to lead and train a team
  • How to develop a teaching program for 0-18s
  • How to teach the Bible in a way that makes disciples for Jesus

Duties and responsibilities

Duties will include writing talks and small group notes for leaders and young people, engaging with All Souls Primary School by delivering school assemblies, and participating in after-school clubs.

During the two-year programme, you will take responsibility for leading one of the youth teams, overseeing, and preparing teaching materials. You will also learn how to support families attending the 9.30 service in discipling their children.

You will attend weekly Friday and Sunday Youth meetings, weekly Monday staff meetings, and twice-weekly 0-18 meetings. You will be closely supervised and mentored, with weekly mentoring sessions with the Senior Minister (Children and Youth).

All Souls Church

London, England, United Kingdom

In the centre of London’s West End, All Souls Langham Place is a conservative, Anglican Evangelical church. At the heart of all we do as a church is our desire to be ‘All for Jesus!’

We are deeply grateful for a diverse and international church family, a rich heritage and an exciting location and seek to use all God has given us in the extension of Christ’s Kingdom. We recognise that we are only a small part of God’s worldwide Church, so we aspire to a generosity and graciousness in our fellowship with other Churches while submitting ourselves to the authority of God’s unchanging Word. We believe that Jesus is for all and we long to be all for Jesus.
