Description of Job

Are you passionate about helping a generation of young people encounter Jesus? We're looking for a Youth Lead to disciple, inspire and walk alongside 11–18s in Totton, building a youth ministry where teenagers find faith, freedom and a place to belong. Could this be you?

We are delighted to advertise the role of Youth Lead to continue and develop our highly successful youth ministry here at St Wins. This ministry is based out of St Wins in Totton. The role is offered as a part-time position of 3 days per week (22.5 hours), on a permanent contract, at a full-time equivalent salary of £27,000 per annum (pro-rated). The working days will include Tuesdays (including the evening) and Sundays.

With some shared time on Tuesday and Sunday mornings, this 3-day role can be combined with our Pillar Lead role to create a single full-time, 5-day position for the right candidate. If you have the skills and heart for both, we'd love to hear from you! Please mention this in your application.

The vision of St Wins is to be a community that sees lives transformed, hope restored and freedom found in Jesus. Each member of staff plays a key role in contributing to this vision, and as a Christian organisation our faith is an integral part of our working culture. For more information about the church, please visit the website at www.stwins.org.

Working within the St Wins staff team and reporting to the Clergy team, the Youth Lead will oversee and develop the youth ministry at St Wins, with primary responsibility for the leadership, spiritual direction and programme of our youth groups across the 11-18 age range. This includes leading ‘Youth Nights’ on a Tuesday evening, our weekly space for discipling young people and growing outreach and evangelism to young people in the area, coordinating and leading youth sessions during the 11am Sunday service as well as planning and leading other youth events, such as Southampton Youth Fest. We're looking for a vibrant Christian with a heart to make disciples of Jesus. You'll bring strong relational, organisational and pastoral skills, a good grasp of safeguarding, and ideally experience with young people in a church setting — plus the drive to pioneer the ministry and build a team of volunteer leaders.
