Now seven years later Co Church has planted into St Andrew’s Church in Exwick, forming a group of churches with shared vision, values and resources and local identity.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this role is to support, deliver, and grow the thriving Youth ministry (ages 11–18) across our locations. The post holder will focus on the direct delivery of Sunday sessions, relational discipleship, midweek social outreach, and administrative coordination. The role serves as an intentional leadership pipeline, offering a supportive environment to develop practical ministry skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Sunday Ministry

• Prepare and set up welcoming, high-impact youth environments on Sundays.

• Host the Youth Lounge to foster social cohesion and build community among young people as they arrive at church.

• Deliver and support the standard weekly program for Younger Youth (Years 7–8) and develop an Older Youth (Years 9–13) contact point on a Sunday.

• Ensure a safe, well-ordered, and stimulating environment where youth can learn about God through biblical teaching, prayer, worship, reflection, and fun.

Discipleship & Mentoring

• Facilitate small-group discussions and bible studies, helping youth move toward personalised faith ownership.

• Offer pastoral care and support to young people, with particular attentiveness to those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and challenging backgrounds.

• Help young people understand what it means to live a Spirit-led life as active members of the church family.

• Maintain healthy, professional, and clear ministerial boundaries at all times.

Midweek Socials, Events & Outreach

• Assist the Associate Pastor in delivering midweek youth groups, social nights, and outreach opportunities in local schools.

• Coordinate logistics, parental consent forms, and supplies for off-site trips and residentials.

• Act as a link to integrate general volunteers and Commission Year participants into youth events.

Administration & Operations

• Administrate youth details with database systems (such as ChurchSuite).

• Coordinate volunteer rotas and support team communication.

• Keep the spaces used by youth groups and events clean, tidy, and fully equipped.

• Under the supervision of the Associate Pastor, ensure all youth activities are fully safeguarded and risk-assessed.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS The person we are looking for is :

• A committed Christian with a vibrant, active personal faith, a love for young people, and a heart for making disciples.

• Actively aligned with the charismatic tradition of the HTB network.

• Able to facilitate youth small groups, engage young people in faith topics, and build rapport calmly and effectively.

• Experienced working or volunteering with young people aged 11–18 (in church, camp, or educational settings).

• Teachable, humble, and resilient; a proactive team player who thrives under clergy supervision and collaborative environments.

• Someone with strong organisational and time-management skills with basic IT literacy (office software, email, and digital communication).

• Someone who has a strong understanding of and total commitment to excellence in safeguarding policies and practices.

DESIRABLE SKILLS

• Understanding and experience of city-centre resource church dynamics or prior engagement with HTB network churches and training.

• Experience coordinating volunteers or working with youth who have SEND/diverse needs.

• Proficiency in database management systems like ChurchSuite.

• Creative flair (such as music, sports, media, or arts) to engage youth culture.

• Academic or formal practical training in theology or youth work.

REQUIREMENTS

• Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR): In accordance with Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010, there is a legal requirement for the postholder to be a committed, practising Christian.
