Student recruitment is a collaborative effort between New Wine and your Hub.
- National Communications Campaign: New Wine leads a wide-reaching campaign to attract applicants across the country, promoting the Discipleship Year through online platforms, events, and partner networks.
- Centralised Applications: All students submit their applications centrally via the New Wine system. This ensures a consistent process and allows for an overview of applicants nationwide.
- Hub’s Role in Selection: As a Hub, you play a vital part in reviewing applications relevant to your region and interviewing prospective students. This enables you to assess their fit for the programme and their potential placement options.
- Matching Students to Placements: Based on interviews and conversations, you match students with suitable Placement Churches, ensuring a good fit for both the student’s growth and the church’s needs.
- Updating the New Wine Team: Once matches are made, you keep the New Wine team informed by providing details of placements offered and accepted. This helps maintain oversight and support throughout the process.
- Safer Recruitment and Onboarding: All Placement Churches and Hubs must follow New Wine’s safeguarding and safer recruitment policies to onboard students safely and effectively, including appropriate DBS checks and safeguarding training.
