Venue

New Wine Leadership Conference: Harrogate is taking place at the Harrogate Convention Centre, King’s Rd, Harrogate HG1 5LA. The Centre gives us everything we need to create a welcoming and spacious home for NWLC.

Arrive into the Foyer, before making your way up the circular ramp to the impressive Auditorium for our Keynotes. From there, the Centre’s connected spaces make it easy to move between sessions, providing dedicated spaces for our breakouts, gatherings and different parts of the programme. With plenty of spaces to connect, reflect and find your own rhythm throughout the day, the Convention Centre is a great home for our network to gather and grow.

Other Facilities

By the main entrance, a cloakroom is in operation free of charge to leave luggage and coats. Large bags aren’t permitted in the Auditorium.

Toilets are located and signposted around the centre and marked on the conference map.

Harrogate Convention Centre provides a free 3MB wi-fi service – look for ‘Venue Wifi’ on your connections list. This service is not suitable for heavy downloads or streaming.

Accessibility

At New Wine we know that additional needs are wide-ranging and we want to support those with additional needs and disabilities to enable everyone to join in with all that’s going on. At all our events, we’ve been working hard to make sure that we provide as much support and infrastructure as we can to increase accessibility and enable all to engage deeply.

If you would like any specific support or would like to let us know of anything specific to support you in attending, please get in touch via info@new-wine.org or give us a call on 02045 832 935 (Mon – Fri, 9am-5pm).

MORE ON ACCESSIBILITY

Lifts and ramps allow step-free access around the venue to the Auditorium and breakout spaces.

In the Auditorium, there is designated wheelchair space, accessible via a lift. A key card is required to access the lift provision from the foyer, so please speak to the team at Info to use this. If you or anyone in your group is a wheelchair user or requires reserved seating in the Auditorium, please email info@new-wine.org or speak to Info at the event.

If you’re bringing an assistance animal, please get in touch with us at info@new-wine.org to let us know and register them. We strongly advise that they have sufficient training, insurance and wear identifying harnesses.

The Auditorium is fitted with an induction loop for hearing-aid users. BSL interpretation is available during Keynotes in the Auditorium and upon request for Breakouts. Live English Captioning is available on a small screen in the Auditorium.

Strobe lighting will not be used in any venues. Moving lights may be used in Auditorium.

All Keynote sessions will be live-streamed to a separate space within the venue for those who would prefer to join in a more relaxed environment. The location will be confirmed nearer the event.

There is Blue Badge parking in Harrogate Convention Centre’s underground car park with direct lift access to Entrance One of our Auditorium. Otherwise, the most accessible car park is Jubilee Car Park, free for Blue Badge holders and nearer than the main HCC parking.

For more accessibility information, please head to Harrogate Convention Centre’s website. Additionally, Access Able have published guides concerning each part of the Convention Centre, and getting to and from the venue, including photos, routes and detailed descriptions of accessibility provision. To access these, please click here .

Food & Drink

Food and drink will be available to purchase during the break times at cafés inside the Convention Centre. From 21:00, the cafés will open as bars, serving a selection of soft and alcoholic drinks available to purchase.

Free water coolers will be available around the venue. Please bring a reusable water bottle to make use of these.

Local Cafés and Restaurants

There are plenty of restaurants and cafés within walking distance of the centre and many local businesses offer discounts for visitors. For more information on these, please visit the Visitor Discount Offer page on the centre website.
